Guan Wu, MD
Guan Wu, MD, PHD, FACS is a Professor of Urology and Pathology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York, USA. Dr. Wu specializes in urologic oncology and robotic surgery. Dr. Wu has performed over 2,000 robotic surgeries since 2006, including robotic prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer surgeries, as well as other complex urologic reconstruction procedures. Dr. Wu’s basic research is focused on kidney cancer critical gene functions and knockout mouse models for kidney cancer. He has mentored many PHD candidates and basic researchers in kidney cancer research, and trained clinical fellows in advanced robotic surgery. As a physician-scientist, he has published widely in leading basic science and clinical journals. He has also served as a grant reviewer for the United States National Science Foundation, the American Urological Association (AUA), and the Chinese Natural Science Foundation. In addition, he has served on many AUA committees, including the Young Urologist Committee, Video Education Committee, and AUA Annual Meeting Program Abstract Review Committee. Dr. Wu is a proud member of the AUA Leadership Program Class of 2014.
