ForwardSurgical Management of BPH Webcast (2021)
Surgical Management of BPH is an exciting new educational initiative featuring a series of four interactive, case-based, live virtual courses conducted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. For each session, a Moderator will engage two other subject matter experts in an interactive, interview-style presentation and discussion. Semi-live surgical videos will be utilized to demonstrate and emphasize the significant elements of various BPH procedures.
Based on the documented need from the 2020 AUA BPH global needs assessment, the AUA has produced this new series of educational offerings for the urologic care team focused on the newest technology and procedures for the surgical management of BPH. Each activity will be recorded and posted on AUA's YouTube channel. Additionally, the English course will be available in webcast format on AUAUniversity. The Spanish course will be available as a webcast and hosted on AUAUniversity’s microsite featuring Spanish content. Learners will also be provided with links to access additional resources including the AUA’s clinical guidelines discussed during the virtual courses and associated patient resources.
As an additional resource, AUA recommends listening to the pilot activity in this series available as an episode on AUA’s podcast channel. The podcast focused on surgical management of BPH, features an interview with world-renowned BPH surgeons.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the role of the AUA Clinical Guidelines for the Surgical Management BPH.
- Discuss the evidence base for current technologies, including pivotal studies, and be able to define the role and clinical expectation for each of them.
- Interpret the current clinical results and compare the patient experiences of these treatments in relation to more established and even abandoned treatments for patient groups with similar characteristics.
- Differentiate between each of the new technologies for treating BPH/LUTS based on both their mode-of-action and the quality of their supporting evidence.

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION:
Learners will participate in this online educational activity by viewing the webcast, completing the post-test and evaluation. To claim CME credit for this enduring material, learners must complete the post-test, passing with 80% accuracy, and submit the program evaluation.

CREDIT DESIGNATION:
The American Urological Association designates this enduring material for a maximum of 2.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
OTHER LEARNERS:
The AUA is not accredited to offer credit to participants who are not MDs or DOs. However, the AUA will issue documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
